The holiday home for 16 persons is situated in the province of Flemish Brabant, in rural Geetbets. The municipality is located in the triangle of Diest, Sint-Truiden, Tienen. This region in the eastern part of the ‘Hageland’ has many assets.

The river Gete forms the geographical boundary with Haspengouw. The Gete valley forms a beautiful green ribbon of great natural value. In spring you are surrounded by blossoms, in autumn the apples and pears colour the landscape. Thanks to its rich past you will find striking square farmhouses and castles. The valley is quiet but that was not always the case. During the First World War there was a lot of fighting.

It is the perfect base for hiking and biking. The sloping landscape provides fantastic views. Information about city trips, maps with walking, cycling and mountain bike routes can be found in the holiday home.

De Borgerij is also a unique location for teambuilding, business meetings or workshops.

The licensed holiday home has been awarded a 4-star rating and the bike-friendly accommodation label.

The former farm was inhabited by the Borgers family for generations. My mother-in-law spent her childhood here, and her brother lived here his entire life. We searched for a suitable name for the holiday home and chose 'de Borgerij', an amalgamation of the word for farm (boerderij in Dutch) and the family name Borgers. There are no descendants who carry the name further but with this gesture the name will not be completely lost. We hope Uncle Armand would have been happy with it!
