The holiday home is located on the new walking network Getevallei, at junction 406. In total the network amounts to 250 km of quiet and mostly unpaved roads, with 170 junctions. The map is available in the house. Or walk along the 'slow roads', which you can recognize by the yellow street signs.
Streek GR Hageland and Door Hageland en Dijleland are 2 hiking trails from the GR network Flanders that run close to the house.

Both the hiking network Getevallei and Streek-GR Haspengouw have been declared hiking route of the year 2016!

For a short walk with children it's nice along the IJzerenweg route, because you can just turn around when your legs get tired. If there are not too many cyclists, they can take a walking bike or scooter. The versatile Aronsthoek walk through the beautiful nature reserve will certainly please the adventurous kids! And the provincial domain Het Vinne has plenty of opportunities to discover nature in a playful way.

Our holiday home is ideally located as a base for cycling tours. A flat course in the valley? A climb over the Ransberg and the following hills? Beautiful hollow roads? The region around Geetbets has it all!

The cycling network takes you wherever you want to go via junctions. The house is located between junction 354 and 356. The LF35 Kempen-Hageland route also passes here. The cycling map is available at the holiday home.

Including 2 routes from the mountain bike network and the Getelinie cycle route, this is a theme route of the 'Great War in Flemish Brabant'. Would you like to look for the traces of the First World War by bike?

During the Second World War, two bombers crashed near the Borgers family farm. A total of no less than five aircraft crashed on the territory of the municipality of Geetbets. To keep the memory alive, a bicycle route was developed. This pilot route runs in front of the door, follow the signs and be surprised.

If you prefer to start your cycling tour from your holiday home, the IJzerenweg cycle route, the Boomgaardenroute and the Glooiend Hageland are the easiest to reach, in addition to the pilot route. The border with the province of Limburg is nearby, which is why Limburgs Rivierenland is also an excellent choice.

You have the possibility to rent bikes in the provincial domain Halve Maan in Diest or in het Vinne in Zoutleeuw.

The cities of Diest, Zoutleeuw and Sint Truiden are in the vicinity of the holiday home. Het Vinne in Zoutleeuw, the Schulensmeer in Herk-de-stad and the provincial domain De Halve Maan in Diest, are nice excursions to do with children.

Hasselt, capital of taste, is 25 minutes away from de Borgerij. Leuven, the provincial capital of Flemish Brabant, is half an hour's drive away.
